Please, note that non-member submission are disabled due to the unfortunate misuse of open mailing lists through spam mail. No bounce messages will be returned and your message will be lost if you are not subscribed. There is a delay between the time a message is posted and it appears in the mailinglist archives.

Subscribe to a single Mailinglist

To subscribe to the mailing list please send a mail to

majordomo@globus.org

with the message body

subscribe news-cog <your mailing address to which we should send the news items>
subscribe java <your mailing address from which you intent to post to the mailinglist>

Unsubscribe from a Single Mailinglist

To unsubscribe from a mailinglist follow the majordomo conventions by using the mailing list and your e-mail address you subscribed with after the word unsubscribe in the message body. Example: the user smith@university.edu wants to unsubscribe from java@globus.org. He will need to send mail to

majordomo@globus.org

with the message body

unsubscribe java smith@university.edu

Please, note it is important that you use the mailing address that you ave subscribed with.

Subscribe to Multiple Mailinglists

To subscribe to the right mailinglists you can use the following template while replacing <user@abc.edu> with your mailing address from which you like to post and to which you wouldlike to have the mail forwarded.

Delete those that you do not like. I have excluded on purpose the commit mailing lists for now as I believe most people will not want to subscribe to them.

Policy

We do not accept that you use the mailing list in any form of advertisement for you products or services. In response to spamming on this mailing list, we have disabled the ability to post messages to this list if you are not subscribed to it.

This may affect you if you attempt to send a message to the list. If you post a message to the list using an email address different from the one you subscribed to the list with, your message will not be posted to the list, and you will not receive any notification that your message was not posted.

If you send a message to the list and you don't subsequently see your message on the list or in the list archive, this is most likely the source of the problem. Please verify that you are using an email address that is subscribed to the list and retry your posting.

To verify that your email address is subscribed to the list, send an email message to majordomo@globus.org with the single word "which" in the body of the message. You will receive in response a message listing the lists to which your email address is subscribed. If this mailing list does not appear in the list you receive, you are probably subscribed to the list under a different address and you will not be able to post messages to the list using your current address.

We find it regrettable that this reconfiguration is necessary, but based on experiences with other mailing lists that we maintain, we believe that the problem of spam messages on the list causes greater annoyance to users than the new posting policy.
